Yes, bike damage is typically covered by insurance, provided it is caused by a covered peril such as an accident, theft, or natural calamities.
There are three types of bike insurance in India : third-party liability, comprehensive coverage, and own damage coverage.
Comprehensive motorcycle insurance plans exclude coverage for the engine of the vehicle, so if an unfortunate mishap occurs, you will be faced with unexpected expenses. An engine protection cover for bikes will protect you if you incur repair/replacement costs due to lubricant leakage, water intrusion or hydrostatic lock.
The purpose of own damage coverage is to cover any losses sustained by the insured bike due to unforeseen events, such as accidents, earthquakes, theft, riots, fire, etc.
Personal accident insurance for two-wheelers provides compensation for accidents and deaths to the vehicle owner or dependents.
A deductible refers to the fixed amount of money that you must pay out of pocket for each claim before your insurance provider covers the remaining expenses.
Comprehensive coverage typically includes damages caused by accidents, natural disasters, theft, fire, riots, and third-party liability.
